Minutes of the August 23, 2011 meeting

Call to Order Club president, Diane Wagner, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Seventeen members and 2 guests were present.
Welcome to guests Ron and Laura Thompson, past members, visited the meeting.
Correspondence A flyer for the DuPont walk from the Evergreen Wanderers was received.
Milestones 2012 YRE/Seasonals are sanctioned
Rich Heasty – 30 events, Tina Ayers – 325 events
Had a nice club picnic in July at Maple Valley under the trees. Watched an Eastern European baptism service.
Debbie Connell announced that she just celebrated her 59th birthday!
Minutes from May 25, 2011 meeting (no meeting was held in June/July) Motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the minutes as submitted by the secretary.
Treasurer’s Report Ken Grieser reported that the check book balance is $3,038.68. All bills are paid to date.
Committee Reports Walkers can now get credit for every sanctioned walk regardless of how many times they walk it during the year.

Membership Marianne Bastin reported that the membership is 33 (paid, honorary & lifetime). Three members have not yet paid dues.
Sales Alicia Maxcy has record books for sale.
Sickness/Sympathy Joan Grieser had nothing new to report.
ESVA Meeting
6/11/11 meeting in Chelan:
Storage unit issue was tabled to August ESVA meeting
Late fee on ESVA after action fees to actual cost passed. Delinquent clubs are unable to vote at next ESVA meeting.
8/20/11 meeting in Grayland:
Storage unit issue tabled again until the November meeting.
ESVA officers were going to look into donation of records to WA State Historical Society. This has not been done.
Question about definition of delinquent clubs was raised and clarified to mean 30 days from due date.
11/5/11 meeting in Vancouver, WA: This will be a joint meeting with OTSVA.
Old Business
Joan Grieser is still working with Weyerhaeuser on getting a YRE on their property. There is a sanctioned event in October.
Status of sanctioned event in Auburn – Bob Hellers reported that it needs to be wheeled. Ken and Joan Grieser volunteered to help.
Break for Drawing $18.00 was collected. $9.00 went to the club and $9.00 was won by Mary Clingan.
New Business
Christmas Party – Those present expressed interest in having a party this year. Details later.
DuPont event in 2012 – Bill Stewart has found more trails for next year. There could be a 14k trail different than before.
NW Trek in 2012 – This will be part of the NW Regional Conference in August. The Over the Hill Gang has been asked to host the event. Motion was made, seconded and passed to host this event. The club will get the revenue from the walk.
Starting Point 2012 – It was decided to place an order together with Daffodil Valley club to get the lowest price.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
Next meeting will be September 28, 7 p.m.
