THE OVER THE HILL GANG VOLKSSPORT CLUB MEETING
May 24, 2006

CALL TO ORDER:
Club President Skip Probst called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. There were 19 members in attendance.
MINUTES:
The minutes were approved with the following corrections: There were none.
CORRESPONDENCE:
None received.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Ken Grieser reported a bank balance of $ 4,979.69.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
KENT YRE: Dixie Inabnit-Walkers to date: 60
DUPONT YRE: Elayne Chambers – Walkers to date: 27 Bike 9
JUNEAU YRE: No report
SALES: Alicia Maxcy says she has a supply of record books, T-shirts, and several polo shirts are available for sale.
MEMBERSHIP: Marianne Bastin reported that we have paid 71 members, two honorary members and three lifetime members to date for a total of 76.
SICKNESS & SYMPATHY: Joan Grieser reported that Elayne Chambers is quite ill following cataract surgery and surgery for a cancer discovered below one eye. Jack Maxcy had some minor surgery.
ESVA REPORT:
Carol Walsh passed around copies of a report concerning the possible closure of the ESVA office. Included was the question whether to continue to produce the Pathfinder as currently done or to contract out some of the Pathfinder functions. In summary, if the office were to be closed what would happen to the Pathfinder: A. Continue what we do now (current costs, with the office open); B. Office open, with a renewed lease; C. Office closed, with volunteer work continuing; and D. Office closed, with volunteer work hired out. Included in the report were several charts describing annual ESVA office costs and Pathfinder production costs.
ELECTION COMMITTEE REPORT:
A slate of nominees for club officers was given:
President – Diane Wagner, Vice President – Bill Stewart, Secretary – Marianne Bastin, and Treasurer – Ken Grieser.
OLD BUSINESS:
A Northwest Trek workers’ walk is set for 9:00 am, Friday, June 2nd. Trailmaster Marilyn Viola stated that she still needs volunteer for the trail sweeps. 181 Girl Scouts have registered for the walk and 200 achievement patches have been ordered. The Roegner Park Auburn Walk volunteer sign up sheets were passed around.
BREAK FOR THE DRAWING:
$ 24 was collected. Ken Grieser won the raffle. He received $12, and $12 went into the kitty.

NEW BUSINESS:
Skip Probst asked for several volunteers to go with him to look at a possible area suitable for a new Year-Round walk route, and that could be used for a scheduled walk in 2007. The group was to meet at 9:00 am Sunday at the Auburn Safeway. The Dupont walks for 2007 will be two, 10 Km and one 5 Km routes. As new possible start point for the Dupont Year-Round walk and bike, the Pegasus Restaurant was mentioned.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:01 pm. Our next meeting will be June 28th .
