THE OVER THE HILL GANG VOLKSSPORT CLUB MEETING
January 25th, 2006
Held at Round Table Pizza, Auburn, Washington
CALL TO ORDER:
Club President Skip Probst called the meeting to order at 6:56 pm. There were 19 members in attendance.
MINUTES:
A motion was made/seconded to accept the MINUTES from the October meeting as submitted.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Brochures from the Victoria International Walking Festival, which will be held on April 21-23, 2006, were received.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Ken Greiser, reported a balance of $4540.00
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
KENT YRE: Dixie Inabnit-Walkers to date: 8 (The Safeway is being remodeled. A Daffodil Valley club member works at this store and will watch the box to see the box is not discarded during the remodel.)
FEDERAL WAY YRE: Now Closed
DUPONT YRE: Elayne Chambers – Walkers to date: 2, Bike 0
JUNEAU YRE: Seasonal is closed for the season Opens May 18th, 2006.
SALES: Alicia Maxcy reported that record books, DuPont Anniversary hatpins ($2.00), club polo shirts ($13.00) and one Large blue t-shirt are available for purchase.
MEMBERSHIP:Marianne Bastin Reported that we have 69 paid members and 2 honorary members Members
SICKNESS & SYMPATHY: Joan Grieser reported the recent death of the wife of Bob Jensen, and the illnesses of Dorothy Bahr, Elaine Chambers, Carol Walsh, Resi McDonald, Bob Hellers, Dauna Perry and Sue Probst.
ESVA REPORT:
Carol Walsh reported that the Finance Committee met on Jan. 14th at the Commons in Federal Way. She told us that the YRE in Edmonds was among the top ten YREs in attendance in 2005 for for the entire USA.
OLD BUSINESS:
For the ESVA Northwest Trek walk on Feburary 4th & 5th, the club will mark the trail on Friday, Feburary 3rd 0900am and check the trail on Saturday and Sunday. A new site for the 2006 Christmas Party was discussed and the Muckleshoot Casino was suggested as a possible location. A motion was made, seconded and passed to reimburse Betty Hellers for Christmas Party gifts. Porta-Potties have been ordered for the Dupont Walk.
Workers walks are scheduled for March 4tth and March 18th, with trail marking on March 24th, and trail checks on March 25th and 26th .

No new business was brought up.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT:

LATEST NEWS:
In regard to a new meeting place or time, it was determined that the meeting room availability at the Super Mall in Auburn is nil; the mall is a high- usage facility. The Round Table Pizza facility in Auburn where we currently meet has GUARANTEED (?!?!?) us room availability for the Fourth Tuesday of each month. As of the posting of these minutes, we will be meeting at the Round Table Pizza on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Feb 28th.
