THE OVER THE HILL GANG VOLKSSPORT CLUB MEETING

CALL TO ORDER:
Club President Skip Probst called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. There were 20 members in attendance.
MINUTES:
The Minutes of the January meeting were approved.
1st ORDER BUSINESS:
There was none.
CORRESPONDENCE:
The Feb/Mar issue of the American Wanderer was received and passed around. Information regarding the International Walking Festival, which will be held April 15-17, 2005, in Victoria, B.C., Canada, was passed around. A trip via the Victoria Clipper, including two nights lodging in a hotel will be $142 US. Interested people should call (206) 448-5000 to book reservations. Groups of 10 or more may contact Mindy at (206) 443-2560, Ext. 3320 for special rates.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Ken Grieser reported that there is a balance of $6,428.26 in the club’s checking account.

SALES: Alicia Maxcy stated that there are club polo shirts and T-shirts available for purchase.
MEMBERSHIP: Marianne Bastin reported that we currently have 87 paid members and two honorary members.
SICKNESS & SYNPATHY: Joan Grieser stated that she received no reports of illnesses.
ESVA REPORT:
Carol Walsh had nothing to report.
BREAK FOR DRAWING:
$24 was collected. Dorothy Blackmum won the drawing. She received $12 and $12 went into the club kitty.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR :

OLD BUSINESS:
Bill Stewart reported that the routes for all Dupont walks scheduled for the March 19 th event have been finalized. Two copies of each route have been provided to the City of Dupont. Porta-Pottys for this years’ event will have to be provided by the club, as there is no outside support to cover payment; next year there should be. Workers’ walks are set for Saturday, Feb. 26 th and Sunday, Feb. 27 th with walkers meeting at the Dupont City Hall at 9 am. The marking of the trails will start at 9 am, Friday, March 18 th with volunteers meeting at the Dupont City Hall. Jack Maxcy said that he had an adequate supply of arrows and ribbons for marking. The trail checks will begin at 7am on the day of the event.
NEW BUSINESS:
Walks for next year’s event have been approved. The City of Dupont would like us to stage a two-day event for 2006 in conjunction with the 100 th Anniversary of their founding. Bill Stewart moved that a two-day event be staged, and Alicia Maxcy seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Alicia Maxcy solicited comments about the Christmas Dinner held at the Elks’ Club. There were several comments about the food, generally unfavorable. Joan Grieser volunteered to investigate a possible new site for next year
The meeting was adjourned at 7:44 pm. Our next meeting will be on March 23rd.
