THE OVER THE HILL GANG VOLKSSPORT CLUB MEETING
June 18th, 2003

CALL TO ORDER:
President Jack Maxcy called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. There were 18 members present and one visitor. Marion Puckett’s brother Phil was visiting from Bremerton.
MINUTES OF May 28, 2003 MEETING:
The minutes for May were approved with 1 change, that being that we donated $200 to Shirley’s campaign instead of $250.
CORRESPONDENCE:
We received a post card from JP and Dianne. They are moving from Ball Park to Ball Park and places in between. They are doing well.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Ken Grieser: Balance of checkbook as of today is approx. $6,846.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
KENT YRE: Walkers to date: 98
FEDERAL WAY YRE: Walkers to date: 82
DUPONT YRE: Walkers to date: 61 Bike: 13
JUNEAU: Walkers to date: 30
SALES: Alicia has books for sale. She will be sending in an order for items if you are in need of anything.
MEMBERSHIP: Marianne reports that we now have 80 members and 2 honorary members. Twenty-two members have paid their dues to date. We would like to have all dues paid by the 1st of July. Please send your check or cash to Marianne or Jack at the Club address, which is:

SICKNESS AND SYMPATHY: Joan has sent a card of Condolence to club member Elayne Chambers for the loss of her husband.
ESVA:
Next meeting will be in Gardiner, WA. That is near Port Angeles.
E-MAIL:
Jack received an email from Tim and Tina Freeman. They are moving from Oklahoma to Waterloo, IL. They will be here for two weeks during the holidays. There will be an evening walk in Dupont on the 23rd of July. Anyone interested can get the second half of the new stamp.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
NW TREK: We had 519 walkers for credit, 316 walked for free for a total of 835. Add to that 190 girl scouts. The weather was spectacular. What a day! After action reports we made approx. $800.
AUBURN WALK: Bob and Betty informed us that the workers walk would be on July 19th at 9am. Directions to the site will be at the end of these minutes. After the walk those participating will adjourn to the Muckelshoot Casino for brunch.
GIRL SCOUT WALK: The Pacific Peaks Council walk will be on Sunday, October 13th in Dupont. Jack needs some helpers. It will be at the City Park again.
DUPONT WALK: The 2004 walk is on schedule. We received a thank you note from the city of Dupont thanking us for the donation we made to them in the amount of $500.
SOCIAL: The Train trip to Canada on October 18th and 19th is set. Jack is looking for parking for those who will be leaving their cars at the train station in Seattle over night. Just a reminder, you have to have 2 pieces of id with you; a driver’s license and a current passport or a driver’s license and a notarized copy of your birth certificate. The trip to Hope will be the weekend of September 27th and 28th. The number where you can reach the Quality Inn in Hope is 1-800-899-5996.
NEW BUSINESS:
We will be making a donation to NW Trek in the amount of $600.
Our next meeting will be on September 24th. At that time we will have our annual Pizza Party. Jack will keep us advised during the summer months if anything of interest comes up.

Take the I-5 Exit #142A (SR 18 East). Go to the “C” street SW exit. Turn right on C St SW continue to Ellingson RD. Turn left, go to “A” St SE. Turn right on “A” St, go to Lakeland Hills Way and turn Left to Oravets Rd. Go to Auburn Riverside High School parking lot. Follow signs to start. From SR 167 North or South take Algona/Pacific exit to Ellingson Road. Follow Ellingson Road East to “A” St and then continue as above.
