THE OVER THE HILL GANG VOLKSSPORT CLUB MEETING
June 26th, 2002

CALL TO ORDER:
Club President Jack Maxcy called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. There were 27 members present.
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
Skip and Sue Probst were introduced. They will be joining our club tonight.
MINUTES OF May 22, 2002 MEETING:
Minutes of the May meeting were discussed and approved.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Sandy reported that the checkbook balance is $8206.37. Jack reported that he has $19.00 cash on hand.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
KENT YRE, Jack: Walkers to date: 105
FEDERAL WAY, Jack: Walkers to date: 84
DUPONT YRE Walkers: 69, Bike: 14
SALES. Alicia: The club took in $95 from sales of New Walker Packets at NW Trek.
MEMBERSHIP: Regular Members: 75 Honorary Members: 2
SOCIAL: Our Summer Picnic will be held at the home of Dianne Hall on July 20th.
The festivities will begin at 11 am with lunch being served at around 12:30. This is a BYOB affair. Also bring a sweater or light coat because we will be going out on the lake. If you have any questions give Dianne a call at: (253) 862-3805. If you wish to go swimming in the lake bring along your swimming suit and a towel. Directions to get to her home are included with the minutes. Remember to bring your hot dish or salad that you signed up for.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Northwest Trek: JP has completed the work assignments for the walk. He will contact all those who signed up or agreed to work this event. If you have not heard from him soon please feel free to call him at 253-862-3805. We had a great sign up for this event which was appreciated.
This is also a Girl Scout walk. As of the date of this meeting we have had 216 girls order “Girl Scout Patch’s”. 110 Parents have also signed up which at this date gives us a total of 316 from the girl scout family who will attend. Our start point this year will be in the picnic shelter.
The Norpoint walk is on Saturday October 5th 2002. Dean Puckett will be in charge of this walk. Brochure is due to regional director by July 6th. Pathfinder ad is due in the ESVA office no later then August 2, 2002. Please let Dean know if you will be in town on hte date of the walk and be available to help.
Dupont: March 22nd, 2003 Events. Sanction Requests have been submitted and approved by the Regional Director.
2002 Year Round Events: All going well, had a problem with a portion of our DuPont walk. Trail blocked because of construction. We were able to adjust our map and directions immediately and have all problems solved in a couple of hours. Thanks Linda James for getting the new route printed and in place at the start point in record time.
ELECTIONS REPORT:
Joan Grieser reported that those running for office are: Jack Maxcy for President. Dean Puckett,Vice President.
Dauna Perry, Secretary, and Kenneth Grieser for Treasurer. Nominations were opened from the floor as well.
No nominations were made, therefore the above persons were elected by acclamation. Ken Grieser will be taking over from Sandra Washam who has served as Treasurer for 4 years. Thank you Sandy for all your work, and always with a smile. We appreciate all you have done. Mr. Greiser will become Treasurer effective July 1, 2002.
CLUB DUES:
As of July 1, 2002, our club dues are due. They are $5.00 per person or $10 per family. Please send your checks or cash to Marianne Bastin—10310 67th Ave. E. Puyallup, WA 98373-1131. So to avoid getting into deep due, you know what to due, Thank you.

DIRECTIONS TO DIANNE HALL’S HOME:
From Highway 167, either north or south, take Highway 410 east;
Take the third (3rd) Sumner exit; (1st is downtown – 2nd is Orting)
This exit is 166th. Go LEFT under the freeway.
Go up the hill to the third (3rd) light.
Turn RIGHT onto W. Tapps Drive(Fire station, Strip Mall & Boat Repair)
Proceed on W Tapps 1.8 miles and turn LEFT on Jenks Pt.
Go to 5002 Jenks Point, which is one-half (1/2) block on your left.
The house has a white post and copper tubing fence.
Note: There is a steep driveway so please use the steps.
