Minutes of the February 27, 2013 meeting

Call to Order President, Diane Wagner, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Fifteen members were present.
Correspondence

Milestones Pat Patterson has finished his 1st Centurion Program book. That means he has completed 100 events since Jan. 1, 2013!
Minutes of the January 22, 2013 meeting A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the minutes as submitted by the secretary.
Treasurer’s Report Ken Grieser reported that the checkbook balance is $3,393.02. He has $100 to deposit from year-round- events.

Membership Marianne Bastin reported that the total membership is 39. See end of minutes for a change in the membership roster.
Sickness/Sympathy Joan Grieser reported that she sent cards to Bill Steward and Bob Hellers.
ESVA Meeting The next meeting is scheduled for May 18 in Ellensburg.
AVA Meeting The AVA convention will be April 29 – May 3, 2013 in Orlando, FL.
At the convention will be election of officers: President candidates – Sam Korff and Dennis Michele. Vice President – Holly Pelking. Secretary – Bonny Johnson. Treasure – Bob Morrison.
There will be a vote on IVV-Americas.
Old Business
DuPont Jerry Williams provided an overview of the first walk route. Now work can be started on the second route. Diane Wagner reported to DuPont City Hall that TOTHG will be participating in Hudson’s Bay Days on Aug. 25, giving traditional March events a rest for this year.
Break for drawing $13.00 was collected. Susie Shepherd won $6.50 and $6.50 went to the Club.
New Business
Kent – Green River trail has a new route. It has been re-written and wheeled. A new map will be in the walk box by March 8. The trail is no longer an out and back, but through a large residential area, across the earthworks tour bridge (new in 2010) and on the other side of the Green River then back across the golf cart bridge to the trail we are familiar with.
Delegate/alternate to the AVA convention. Since no one from the club will be going to the business meetings at the convention the motion was made, seconded and passed to ask Nancy Wittenberg to carry our proxy vote. A motion was made, seconded and passed to give her $50.00 to help defray expenses.
Regional Director A motion was made, seconded and passed to endorse Nancy Wittenberg as AVA Regional Director of the Northwest area.
Considering the AVA’s joining with IVV-Americas Information was passed out explaining this proposal. There was a short group discussion.
Meeting was adjourned at 7 p.m.
