Minutes of the June 27, 2012 meeting
Round Table Pizza, 34410 16th Ave Ct, Federal Way, WA 6:30 p.m.
Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by club president, Diane Wagner. Sixteen members were present.
Correspondence Diane received an e-mail from member Chip Heinz (NW Trek). He was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Fortunately it is a rare, easily treatable form of the disease and he is doing well.
Milestones Richard Heasty – 50 events, 500 km
Minutes of the May 23, 2012 meeting Motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the minutes as submitted by the secretary.
Treasurer’s Report Ken Grieser reported that the checkbook balance is $3,251.61 with money yet to be deposited.

Membership Marianne Bastin reported the following:

Sales Alicia Maxcy has record books and white club shirts (2 lg. and 3 ex. lg.) for sale.
Sickness/Sympathy Joan Grieser reported that Bob Hellers will be having more hip surgery.
ESVA meeting will be held on July 21 A motion will be made to terminate the 39 counties program due to the expense of more books and patches.
AVA meeting will be held on July 6-7 in Orlando. Many motions will be entertained at this meeting. Twenty of the anticipated motions were discussed by the club members.
Old Business
NW Trek – Workers are still needed for the Aug. 16 event.
DuPont – We won’t know for a couple more months if there is a charge to use the Girl Scout headquarters for a start point. Last year our fee at the school was shared with a Boy Scout group.

The person of contact will remain the same for the events.

Motion was made, seconded and passed to make the Lake Fenwick YRE into a Seasonal Event (April 1 to Sept. 30). Last year there were no walkers during the first quarter.
Club picnic – Club members decided to meet at the club’s YRE in Auburn at the Game Farm to start the walk (5km or 10 km) at 9 a.m., Sunday, August 12. Instead of a picnic walkers and non walkers will meet at the casino at 11:30 to eat. Maps will be available at the next club meeting. This will take the place of an August meeting.
Break for drawing $16.00 was collected. Rich Heasty won $8.00. $8.00 went to the club.
New Business Next meeting will be July 25.
